“Moses said to the Lord, “Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.” The Lord said to him, “Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the Lord?”
Exodus 4:10-11 NIV
Moses mentioned his speech impediment after God had already called Him and given Him instructions on what to do. Not only that, God had already showed Him miracles that He should perform infront of the Israelites that they can really believe it was God who sent Him.
However Moses began to doubt his abilities and didn’t think about the miracles and signs that God just showed Him, turning the staff into the snake, and turning His hand into a hand of someone with leprosy. God even told Him about the mighty things he was planning to do in Egypt. Yet Moses didn’t think of this, He only thought of his disadvantages and what he couldn’t do instead of what God could do!
God told him arent I the one who created the mouth? God wasn’t even considering moses’s impediment as a disadvantage, He wasn’t concerned about it. He was concerned about getting things moving!!
Perhaps it can be us who stop God moving in our lives because we’re worrying and doubting our abilities and thinking we’re not qualified. Thinking about our faults and problems
