These past couple of weeks I have felt quite tired. I’ve got quite a lot on, and have been so busy to the point I just felt drained and exhausted. It’s that halfway point, we’re half the way there with uni, and got another five weeks to go.
I think a lot of us feel quite tired especially in this season , where it’s quite dark when you wake up, and it’s getting darker earlier! Not much sunshine anymore so you just feel tired a lot more often. It also gets to the point where you feel no matter how much you sleep, you’re still tired!
When it came to praying and reading the Bible and spending time with God, I felt like it was another addition, another ‘to do’ for my list. However my perspective was changed when reading these two verses:
“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
Matthew 11:28-29 NKJV
It didn’t occur to me , through all the times reading this, that God wants us to find rest in Him. God knows that we may feel tired, down in the dumps, and lacking energy. He knows what we need. He wants us to find it within Him!
“And He said, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.””
Exodus 33:14 NKJV
In as guilty as I felt for not doing work all the time or not always being on the clock, I found consolation that even JESUS who was fully God and fully man needed to rest too! And often He would recluse and go on His own to pray and find quiet time. God! Even after 6 days of building the world took a rest on the 7th day
The more we don’t see it as a chore, but actually as a break for our souls. Finding quiet time and making time to meditate on God’s word will be good for us. Take it as God refreshing you, and giving you strength once more. Giving you what you need for the day.
A good friend of mine sent this picture to me:

Even if it means you have to schedule it in! But don’t think of it as a chore but an necessity ! When you think of the importance of sleep, even as a human necessity – one theory is that so that your body can return to homeostasis , to return to the levels it’s supposed to be functioning at, an equilibrium ~ restoring balance. So don’t skip out on it!
So I hope this encourages you!
God bless you & have a good day ♥️

Wow!! That is wonderful. Thank you for being so real and practical. Very true that we sometimes fail to realize that what is needed is to turn to Him (Christ) for rest. Things in this world can be draining. However, we have Emanuel (God with us) all the time. Thanks TK for a powerful teaching. Keep up the great work.

Awesome reminder! Rest is essential. Even a machine gets tired when it is overused. I think that a lot of people struggle with resting because they look at it as wasting time and being lazy which isn’t true at all. Our body needs to rest. God rested, how much more us. The Lord modeled what rest looks like and as children, we much take heed to that example. Thank you for sharing ❤️😊
