Good afternoon and I hope you’re doing well!
So I wanted to ask you, when you look at your life and how you are, are you alive but feeling like you’re not really living ? Whether you’re just constantly stressing or constantly worried, are you enjoying the life that you were given?
One thing I’ve learnt about life, is that there is always something that it gives you to worry about. There always could be something, be it financially, educationally, economically, there’s always something they can give you a reason to worry. I mean, Everytime you turn on the news, there’s a reason.
And there not to say that we should forget all our responsibilities and the reality of life, not at all. But in as much as life gives us a reason not to be happy, we have to find reasons to have joy and peace.
Why?
Because life is so short. We can spend our time worrying about the next thing and miss the blessings of today.
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” Matthew 6:34 NKJV
If you spend your whole today worrying about tomorrow, you’ve missed out on whatever today was meant to bring for you. Or how you could’ve blessed other people. Or just how you could’ve found a reason to smile.
The message version of this bible verse says: ““Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.” Matthew 6:34 MSG
When saying all of this, again I want to reiterate that I don’t want to diminish whatever you’re going through. Because there are things which do take up mental energy , to the point of where you can’t sleep. But know that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in the time of trouble (psalms 46:1), and that He calls for us to come to him with our problems and our worries, for he gives us rest. (Matthew 11:28). So many of us are walking around tired of life, but God is calling us to peace within him.
This doesn’t mean everything in life is gonna be perfect. But He is your safe space, and you know you can pray, and He gives you peace, throughout that storm. In Matthew 14:22-33, Jesus came in the middle of the scary storm, to meet His disciples, but made sure to tell them “peace he still”, before he talked to the wind and the waves. And a miracle was also done (peter walking on the water), again, before the storm was quietened.
So, my encouragement today is that although life may not give you so many reasons to smile , God wants us to live this life. Not always feeling burdened all the time, but to have peace and joy! So make the decision to give all your worries to Him, and make the conscious effort not to worry all the time about things to come, but to enjoy each day as you can.
May God bless you ♥️.
