Faith over fear! Overcoming the battle in your mind

Hey guys. I hope your well.

Apologies that this weeks post is later than usual!! But today I want to talk about putting faith over fear and overcoming your biggest threat – yourself.

I’m gonna shares little bit about the background to this post. I would call myself an outgoing person but when it comes to believing in myself and the abilities, or talents God has given me, I struggle. It doesn’t matter that I can easily encourage others, or that I can accept compliments. But it’s about taking the step forward in internalising and getting rid of fears. One of my fears is the fear of failure. In any area of my life, be it financially, in my purpose, educationally, relationally. But that leads me to not take chances , or step outside of my comfort zone very often!

Fear can do that to you. Fear can be rational or irritations , of real or imagined things. It can be in your head or attached to a physical thing. But it stops you from doing a certain action, good or bad.

But the bible tells us not to be afraid. 365 times, scholars say, so literally one “do not be afraid” for every day of the year. The biggest thing you have to fight in your day to day battle is your mind. It’s your kind you have to tell to not fear, and have you ever tried to talk yourself out of a certain mindset. It’s not easy.

This is where, I believe faith comes in. Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). It’s though I may have this fear of failure and that everything could go wrong, I’m not putting trust in myself, but in God! Romans 10:17, faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. It’s trusting that God has a great plan for me, (Jeremiah 29:11), and that I am called according to his purpose, therefore all things are working for my good! (Romans 8:28)

Sometimes the biggest enemy of your progress is the lovely reflection in the mirror. We have to battle against it daily. One practical tip is having healthy affirmations helps, and remind yourself of what the word of God says. Step out of your comfort zone and start walking in the purpose that God called you into. Fighting that fear with faith, daily , reading the word and being full

Faith is an action word! So even if it’s difficult to get things going , don’t stop hoping. For faith is the substance of things hoped for, and don’t stop praying. Pray that your mind may be renewed (Romans 12:2) and to overcome fear with faith.

““But now, thus says the LORD, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭43:1‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
