I can’t quite figure it out…

on

One thing I can say in these twenty years of being on this planet, is that there is a certain pressure of having things figured out. We’re expected to know what we want to do, when we want to do it, how we want to do it, without being given a moment to breathe.

From a young age kids are asked “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Already instilling the idea of being grown up in their head (which trust me, isn’t all that fun!).  Pressure rises on high schoolers, and  by the age of fifteen, you’re being asked to make decisions based on your future, when you probably haven’t had the chance to get to grips with your present! From there, A-levels, and that’s where the hard bits begin. “What are you wanting to do with your life?”…but decide soon,  because deadlines. There’s a lot! By university, there’s people who are in an establishment, who may feel ashamed because they still haven’t figured out what they want to do.

But its okay! (It’s okay, it’s okaaaaaay!).

We don’t have to have it all figured out.

Sometimes you may have a plan in life, and have it down to a T and life just hits a small earthquake everything changes. And you may think, “Now, what?” “I can’t quite figure it out”. But honestly, it’s okay not really knowing.

The immense pressure of having it all figured out sometimes causes us to breakdown when things don’t go the way we planned, and life doesn’t go how we expected. Life isn’t something that you can put in a box, or your path going to be straight. Maybe the reason you can’t quite figure it all out, is because it’s not meant to all be figured out. That’s life!

Yes, set goals! That’s great! Take opportunities as they come. But be adaptable, have a mentality of adaptability, to be able to go with the flow.

So that job didn’t work out? Okay! What’s next, let’s keep pushing.

That relationship or friendship didn’t work out? I’m sorry. Keep going!

Life isn’t going to stop working, just  because your situation didn’t. So, dwell on the fact that life does keep going, so you keep going too! It may not be how you planned, but that’s the beauty of it, we have no idea how it will work out.

You won’t always have it figured out, and that’s absolutely fine!

Thank you for reading this short post, which was just on my heart. I’ll be talking more about this in the next Embrace series installment! Embrace: where you are(if you haven’t checked out the first two yet ,please give them a read and let me know what you think!)

~ Have a fantastic weekend. God bless!

Peace love and joy ❤

  1. I thin that you must follow God and allow Him to show you what to do for your job and for your life to serve Him. I also think that we should have jobs that serve God. And that He will show you what to do.

Thank you so much for your comment, and that’s a powerful thing. Serving God and allow Him to lead. How do you think people can discern the voice of God when it comes to finding out what job to take, and which path?

      1. When I started to write I felt something inside of me become unlocked. This was how I felt my path and Job, by the Holy Spirit telling me.
